Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during my free initial consultation?

Your free initial consultation is a relaxed and informal meeting that allows us to explore your health and fitness goals in greater detail. This consultation is obligation-free. If by the end of the consultation you would like to go ahead and begin personal training we can book your first training session and agree upon a start date. But no matter what you decide, we hope the meeting will leave you feeling even more motivated to take action towards a healthier lifestyle!

How is my progress measured?

With your first training session you will receive a free health and fitness assessment which will include measurement of weight, body fat, resting heart rate, blood pressure, body mass index, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. These measurements can be repeated at set stages throughout the course of your training program in order to measure your progress.

Do I need to be physically fit to have a personal trainer?

No. Most people who come to us are either new to fitness or are returning to fitness after a period of inactivity. We will carry out a health assessment to ensure that you are medically safe to train, as well as a simple fitness test that will help to determine the level of exercise that is right for you.

How quickly can I lose weight with a motivate personal trainer?

Clients generally notice fat loss and muscle toning within a matter of weeks. Some clients may lose up to 14 pounds of body fat in their first month. The exact rate of weight loss will vary from client to client and is dependent on your starting weight, gender, metabolism, weight loss history and the type of training program you are following. For best results, we advise that clients follow their chosen program for a minimum of 3 months.

What equipment and clothing do I need in order to train?

You will need a set of boxing gloves and shin guards. We will bring with us all the necessary equipment for your workouts. You will need to provide yourself with decent running shoes and sensible workout clothing such as sweat pants or shorts and t-shirt. We will also require you to provide yourself with a bottle of drinking water and a towel. We will always arrive approximately 5-10 minutes before your session is due to start in order to set up any equipment.

My home is quite small, will there be space to train?

The equipment that we use is designed to be small and compact. We have trained clients for many years and have yet to find a client's home that is too small for us to train in.
